WCR Treasurer Biography

Carey Atwood

Carey AtwoodCarey Atwood is a Senior Loan Consultant with Washington Mutual Home Loans, having more than 25 years of industry experience. He has been with Washington Mutual since 1992, and grew up in the Real Estate industry: his father was a County Manager in the title insurance industry and a Realtor for 60 years. Carey's earliest experience was setting out open homes signs for his father's company's open houses in the Willow Glen neighborhood where he grew up.

Carey is a member of Washington Mutual's prestigious "Presidents Club" for high producing Loan Consultants. He is also a past recipient of the Affiliate of the Year for the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS®, of which he is a proud member.

With his broad background in Lending and Real Estate, Carey works hard to ensure each customer finds the right loan product to fit their particular need, and to allow them to purchase a home. His goal is to make the transaction a stress-free and enjoyable one for all parties in the purchase transaction.

As a native of San Jose, Carey is proud to be a graduate of San Jose State University. He is a past president of Sigma Chi Alumni Association of Silicon Valley, and the current president of the Tawny Port Crash and Burn Society Ski Club, and the Bay Area Grill Masters. Carey volunteered for over 10 years to cook and serve meals on a monthly basis to the "Julian Street Homeless Shelter" and has barbecued for the Chicago Title Fund "Make a Wish" Fund Raiser for the past 7 years, serving over 700 people each time. Carey volunteers time at his church and is a proud member of philanthropic organizations including Masons, Scottish Rite, and Shrine.
